Sony Pictures Classics Dates Sundance Comedy ‘Between The Temples’ Starring Jason Schwartzman & Carol Kane
'Between the Temples' has been slated for a summer release by Sony Pictures Classics on the heels of its premiere to critical acclaim at Sundance.
Slated to make its New York debut at Tribeca in June, after playing both Sundance and Berlin to great reviews, Between the Temples follows Ben (Schwartzman), a forty-something cantor losing his voice and possibly his faith. Struggling to meet the expectations of his rabbi, congregation, and not one but two Jewish mothers (Caroline Aaron and Dolly de Leon), Ben finds his world turned upside down when his grade school music teacher re-enters his life as an adult bat mitzvah student. Silver and C. Mason Wells wrote the script for the pic, which also stars Robert Smigel ( Leo), Madeline Weinstein ( Beach Rats), and Matthew Shear ( Mistress America).
