Snoop Dogg to Host New Year’s Eve Special for NBC and Peacock
NBC and Peacock are venturing into New Year's Eve live special territory again, this time with NBC's favorite hip hop star: Snoop Dogg.
“Snoop Dogg’s energy, influence and ability to bring people together promises an unforgettable night,” said Jen Neal, executive VP of Live Events and Specials for NBCUniversal Entertainment. The big band leader, known for fronting his Royal Canadians, hosted New Year’s Eve specials for NBC and CBS from 1928 through his death 1977, starting on TV in 1955. The special was among a slew of programming announcements from NBC, Peacock and other NBCUniversal platforms on Monday as the company kicked off the TV industry’s upfronts week with a splashy presentation at Radio City Music Hall.
