SNL Officially Informs FCC of VP Harris Appearance; FCC Comments

SNL officially notified the FCC of VP Kamala Harris's appearance and it appears Brendan Carr isn't quite speaking on behalf of the entire FCC.

Published Sun, 03 Nov 2024 18:44:08 -0600by Ray Flook Earlier today, we reported on how Donald Trump-appointed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner and Project 2025 contributor Brendan Carr was crying foul, claiming that VP Kamala Harris's appearance during the cold open to this weekend's edition of NBC's Saturday Night Live was in violation of the FCC's "equal time" rule that requires television and radio stations to offer political candidates equal air time. As far as SNL goes, the long-running late-night sketch comedy and music series officially notified the FCC that VP Harris appeared "without charge" for "a total period of 1 minute and 30 seconds on November 2, 2024." Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate for President in the 2024 national election, appeared without charge on NBC's Saturday Night Live ("SNL") for a total period of 1 minute and 30 seconds on November 2, 2024.
