Sky News reporter ejected from campaign launch as Rishi Sunak sets general election date

Sky News political editor Darren McCaffrey was dragged out of the Excel Centre in London moments before Rishi Sunak took to the stage to kick off his re-election campaign

However, the buzz was somewhat overshadowed when live footage a short while later, showed Darren and his crew being removed from London's ExCel Centre just moments before Rishi staged an event to kick off his own campaign for re-election as the Conservative candidate. Rishi Sunak's election campaign got off to a rocky start when a Sky political correspondent was forcibly removed from the venue (Image: Getty)As he was being escorted out, Darren shared his side of the story: "But, as you can see, we don't have access to it. At the launch for his campaign, Rishi doubled down on his attack against political rival, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer (Image: Getty)"Now they've locked all our stuff away and I have to wait for everyone to clear out before I can pick up my cameraman's bag."
