Skinny Jeans Are Back and Younger Stars Aren’t on Board


Skintight jeans are slowly making a comeback, and millennial and Gen Z stars aren’t jumping on board with the divisive denim trend

During the mid-aughts, the figure-hugging design reached its peak, but then the late 2010s hit — and eventually the COVID-19 pandemic — and the fashion world gravitated toward looser, comfortable and feel-good silhouettes. But as trends go — much to the dismay of many Gen Zers and millennials who had canceled the “outdated” fad, in favor of oversize-anything — the Fall/ Winter 2024 runways brought an interesting twist. Gen X celebrities seemed to follow suit when it came to their off-duty dressing: Sofía Vergara and Céline Dion were recently seen rocking skintight blues.
