Sir Rod Stewart sells entire music catalogue for a whopping £80million after years of negotiations
The legendary singer, 79, reached a deal with Irving Azoff's entertainment rights management company, Iconic Artists, this week, according to Wall Street Journal.
The new deal with Iconic Artists - who also own David Crosby's catalogue and have a major stake in The Beach Boys - includes his entire publishing catalog and recorded music, as well as some name and likeness rights. Founder of Hipgnosis Song Management Merck Mercuriadis released a statement on Tuesday about the acquisition which read: 'The impact of Justin Bieber on global culture over the last 14 years has truly been remarkable. Last year, it was reported to be acquiring a significant minority stake in the Latin label Rimas Entertainment, launching Bad Bunny's career, with an expected valuation of around $300 million.
