Sir Rod Stewart ‘proud and ready’ to play legends slot at Glastonbury 2025


Sir Rod Stewart has been announced as the first headliner for Glastonbury festival next, where the 79-year-old music icon will perform in the coveted legends slot

Fellow major artists including Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue and Dame Shirley Bassey have also filled the prestigious position. Sir Rod also hinted at future plans:"I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. Rod Stewart is married to Penny LancasterThe singer, who has previously battled cancer, said he hopes to live another 15 years but admitted he doesn't have the stamina to keep up with the rock-and-roll lifestyle like he used to.
