Sir David Jason sacked by BBC - just hours after landing iconic Dad's Army role
Sir David Jason is one of the UK's most famous actors, but his career hasn't always been easy - as he was fired from a classic sitcom just hours after landing the part

However, Sir David's career took off spectacularly, following earlier successes in Open All Hours and Porridge alongside greats like Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale, he found further fame with the role of Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses.
