Only Fools and Horses legend Sir David Jason has opened up about a 'terrifying' health battle he endured, with the actor admitting he was left looking 'bruised like a boxer'
In his latest memoir, 'This Time Next Year', the Only Fools and Horses legend, aged 84, talks about his hip troubles, attributing them to his active career in showbiz. He recounts a humorous exchange with his surgeon: "But the operation was, I confess, a pretty terrifying prospect, even though I knew I would be anaesthetised during the worst of it and therefore not around to listen to the hammering and the sawing and whatever else those doctors were going to be getting up to while I sweetly slumbered." Sir David, famed for his iconic role as Del Boy in the BBC comedy, chatted with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about his career during a recent visit to This Morning.
