Hoda, 59, could not hide her delight on Tuesday morning when she welcomed Team USA champion Simone, 27, into Today's makeshift studio in Paris and gushed about how 'proud' she was.
In a super sweet moment, Hoda, 59, got the chance to introduce the 27-year-old seven-time gold medalist to her two daughters - Haley, seven, and Hope, four - via FaceTime on Tuesday morning. As Hoda held up her cellphone to face Simone, the athlete grinned from ear-to-ear as she waved to the host's kids and said: 'Hi girlfriend!' Hoda then told her that she can 'easily picture' Simone as a mom, and asked her if she and her husband, Jonathan Owens, have thought about that phase of her life yet.
