Simone Biles ‘Refused’ to Be Called a ‘Quitter’ in Paris After Calf Injury at 2024 Summer Olympics

After pulling her calf muscle during the 2024 Paris Olympics, gymnast Simone Biles powered through her routine as she refused to be called a 'quitter.'

After the 2024 Paris Games, Simone wore a walking boot for “precautionary” reasons as she prepared to participate in the “Gold Over America Tour,” which visited 30 arenas across the U.S. following the Olympics. After stumbling during warms ups, she explained during part 1 of her documentary that she knew things were going to be “bad bad.” During the event, she didn’t complete the required twists during the vault and had a rough landing while in competition for the individual all-around. “After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in order to focus on her mental health,” a statement from the sport’s governing body read on July 27, 2021.
