Simon Baker Teams With Made Up Stories & Agent-Producer Lee-Anne Higgins For TV Adaptation Of Emily Perkins Novel ‘Lioness’
'The Mentalist's Simon Baker and 'Nine Perfect Strangers' Bruna Papandrea are adapting Emily Perkins novel 'Lioness' for TV.
Lioness follows Therese Thorne, a woman who has married a wealthy older man and built a successful career, but now finds a fraud investigation threatening her sense of loyalty as well as her reputation. His film credits include LA Confidential, The Devil Wears Prada and Margin Call, and has more recently appeared in Netflix hit Boy Swallows Universe, Stephen Johnson’s High Ground, Del Kathryn Barton’s directorial debut, Blaze, Apple TV anthology series Roar opposite Nicole Kidman, and Ivan Sen’s film Limbo. Perkins said: “I’m thrilled that ‘Lioness’ has been taken on by such strong creative forces as Bruna Papandrea, Lee-Anne Higgins and Simon Baker – it’s great to know they’ve connected with Therese’s story, and I can’t wait to see how they explore it for the screen.”
