Silverchair's Ben Gillies says he suffered 'psychotic episode' after drug binge at bandmate Daniel Johns' home: 'I thought I was going crazy'
Ben Gillies has revealed that he have struggled through episodes of drug-induced psychosis since his early 20s.
'That sent me on a mental health journey of 20 years, like seeing doctors and psychologists and on and off medication and just trying to manage it and trying to ultimately, you just want an answer' he said. Gillies earlier revealed on ABC's Australian Story that he began self-medicating with drugs while recording Diorama. He might have felt that Daniel didn't trust his musical judgement and that creative relationship they had was pretty much gone,' he said.
