Sigourney Weaver’s West End Show ‘The Tempest’ Halted By Just Stop Oil Climate Crisis Protesters

Sigourney Weaver's West End production of 'The Tempest' was disrupted by climate crisis protesters on Monday night.

Just Stop Oil activists took to the stage and unfurled a sign saying “Over 1.5 Degrees is a Global Shipwreck” in the group’s signature orange. The play, performed at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, was halted and Weaver was escorted from the stage. One of the protesters, Hayley Walsh, a lecturer from Nottingham, said she was “scared” for her children: “I can’t sleepwalk them into a future of food shortages, life-threatening storms and wars for resources.”
