Shudder Acquires Retro Thriller ‘Dead Mail’ From Filmmakers Joe DeBoer & Kyle McConaghy
'Dead Mail's streaming premiere date is set, as Shudder has acquired rights to the retro thriller from directors Joe DeBoer & Kyle McConaghy.
Its plot is thrust into motion on a desolate, Midwestern county road, as a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. Emily Gotto, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Production at Shudder, said “DEAD MAIL showcases the immense talent of Kyle and Joe in what is a unique, arresting and highly entertaining, darkly comedic film with color drenched 80s nostalgia as the backdrop. Repped by Aperture Entertainment, McConaghy and DeBoer are a Missouri filmmaking duo whose 2020 directorial debut, BAB, won Best Feature at the Nightmares Film Festival.
