Shrek 2 to be 're-released in cinemas for its 20th anniversary'
Shrek 2 could be re-released in cinemas across the UK in 2024 to mark the film's 20-year anniversary. It comes following the release of trailers by the Government of Alberta in Canada.
The film was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (Accidentally In Love by Counting Crows). In January last year, Eddie Murphy said that if the opportunity ever presented itself to reprise his role as Donkey from Shrek, he would 'absolutely do it.' The star also revealed that he found his character of Donkey to be more deserving of his own spin-off movie in comparison to Puss in Boots.
