Tsou would work on his first feature film, “Four Letter Words,” co-direct 2004’s “Take Out” and produced Baker’s “Tangerine,” “The Florida Project” and “Red Rocket.” “Taiwan’s film industry nowadays can strengthen its foundation by fostering international joint ventures and co-establishing investment funds in collaboration with other countries,” adds Tsai. There’s growing international interest in Taiwanese cinema, and I hope that translates into real backing: stronger funding, more meaningful co-productions, and greater visibility for voices that haven’t always been heard,” she says.
