Sheryl Lee Ralph Says Fans Would Mistaken Her for Whitney Houston
Sheryl Lee Ralph recalls people thinking she was the late Whitney Houston after she starred in the original Broadway production of ‘Dreamgirls’
“There was a point after Dreamgirls[on Broadway] when I was getting on a plane, and someone was like, ‘Hi, Whitney.’ ‘I’m not Whitney Houston,’” Ralph explained in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times. Elsewhere in the interview, Ralph quipped that she often has trouble putting names to faces, which inspired a running joke with her character on Abbott Elementary. Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams and more cast members of the ABC comedy series hit the red carpet at the Monday, January 15, awards ceremony, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
