Shep launched into an arms-and-enjoyment commentary typical of championship match: “Late spring here in Charleston, so you know where you’ll find me,” grinning as he cast his line. Someone said they broke out laughing at that fishing excuse, saying: “The captain was helping you get ready Shep, here to PFG new spring collection.” Someone else commented on the cinematography: “The epitome of nature’s beauty.” But to really top it off was an analogy to Seinfeld’s J. Peterman, with one follower commenting, “The monologue is giving me J. Peterman vibes.” Taking that in great spirit, Shep responded, “I take that as a huge compliment.” Now that the Columbia PFG new line is live for sale on Amazon, at least fans will be able to consider recreating his style (even if they can’t hold a candle to his fishing skills).
