Shannen Doherty's Doctor Recalls Her 'Beautiful' and 'Sad' Final Moments
Shannen Doherty’s oncologist, Dr. Lawrence D. Piro, is recalling the ‘beautiful’ moments he spent with the actress before her death
Piro, 68, had treated the late Beverly Hills, 90210 star at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and developed a close friendship with her. On the June 24 episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, Doherty gave a tearful update on her decision to undergo another round of chemotherapy for stage-4 breast cancer. The actress, born in Memphis in April 1971, started her career as a child star on Little House on the Prairie and went on to appear in the dark comedic film Heathers.
