Shane Smith To Tackle New Programming At Vice, Including Show With Bill Maher
The co-founder will now become editor-in-chief at the revamped Vice.
“It’s your baby that you built, that you birthed,” Smith said to the WSJ of his new tasks, which come in the wake of several years of rocky financial times at the company. Smith said the show will report facts free of political bias and expose misinformation, and will air on Maher’s podcast network and Vice TV. Vice exited the day-to-day news business earlier this year and is focused on long-form documentaries.
