Shakira Postpones Concert in Peru After Being Hospitalized for ‘Abdominal Issue’

Shakira was forced to postpone her show in Lima, Peru on Sunday after suffering from an 'abdominal issue' that landed her in the hospital.

“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she said in a statement written in English and Spanish on her social media accounts on Sunday afternoon. Following her Latin American dates, the tour heads to the U.S. beginning on May 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium and wraps on June 30 at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Shakira discussed her tour plans ahead of the run during her Rolling Stone cover story from last summer, where she revealed the concerts would “be the longest” of her career, exceeding two hours — and according to setlist.fm, she made good on her promise on the shows she’s played so far.
