Shailene Woodley almost turned the role of Jane Chapman on 'Big Little Lies,' but Laura Dern convinced her to sign on to the HBO series.
“‘And I think it’s a massive mistake for you to walk away from this opportunity that you really should lean into.’ It was because of that call that I decided to leave India and come back to the United States, and it forever changed my life.” Aside from Dern and Woodley, the star-studded cast of “Big Little Lies” included Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Zoe Kravitz. “The beautiful thing about ‘Big Little Lies’ is that we’re all actually friends in real life,” Woodley told Vanity Fair, sharing that the cast has an active text chain.
