Selena Gomez and Fiance Benny Blanco Choose to Not Attend 2025 Met Gala in NYC

Selena Gomez and her fiance, Benny Blanco, missed a perfect date night opportunity when they decided to skip the 2025 Met Gala in New York City.

While neither Benny nor Selena revealed why they didn’t attend the event, they were both active on social media before the red carpet began when they shared a performance video for their joint song “Sunset Blvd.” This year’s Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion, and Vogue described the dress code as “a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear.” Co-chairs include Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams. Much to fans’ delight, the couple has been fairly open with their romance by sharing sweet photos together, and just months after they went Instagram official, a source exclusively told Life & Style that Selena couldn’t wait for Benny to pop the question.
