Sebastian Stan, Renate Reinsve Family Drama ‘Fjord’ Sells to Neon


Neon has bought 'Fjord,' a family drama with Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve that marks the English-language debut of Cristian Mungiu.

Neon, the Oscar-winning studio behind “Anora” and “Parasite,” has purchased distribution rights to Cristian Mungiu’s “ Fjord.” The family dramastars Sebastian Stan, fresh off his Oscar-nominated turn as a young Donald Trump in “The Apprentice,” and Renate Reinsve, who won raves for her performance in “The Worst Person in the World.” Stan and Reinsve also starred together in 2024’s “A Different Man.” A frequent presence at Cannes, Mungiu has previously been awarded the Palme d’Or for “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days,” as well as been honored with prizes for best director for “Graduation” and best screenplay for “Beyond the Hills” at the festival. Neon returns to the festival this year to premiere Joachim Trier’s“Sentimental Value” and Julia Ducournau’s“Alpha,”as well as Raoul Peck’s “Orwell: 2+2=5” and Michael Angelo Covino’s“Splitsville,”starring Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjona.
