Sean Ono Lennon Gives Mom Yoko a Sweet Mother's Day Shout-Out During 2024 Oscars Win

John Lennon and Yoko Ono's son took home an Oscar for Best Short Film (Animated).

During his acceptance speech, Sean took a moment to give his mom a sweet shout-out in honor of Mother's Day in the United Kingdom. From the minds of Sean and Dave Mullins, the 11-minute animated film is an anti-war story that showcases John and Yoko's iconic holiday song "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" and is set in an "alternate WWI reality where a senseless war rages on, two soldiers on opposite sides of the conflict play a game of chess," the short's description reads. The 2024 Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, airs live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m.
