Screenwriter Jamie Flanagan Sells Two Novels To Simon & Schuster’s Saga Press


Screenwriter Jamie Flanagan has landed a two-novel publishing deal with Simon & Schuster Imprint Saga Press, known for horror.

Flanagan’s debut novel, tentatively titled Deserters and set in post-World War II Italy, follows two priests as they traverse the countryside in search of lost souls, only to find their mission descend into horror. Their untitled second novel, about a young woman uncontrollably flitting through time, is based on their short story, Moira, which was previously released by Shortwave Publishing in their charitable anthology, Shadows in the Stacks. “I’m excited to share what they’re crafting with readers and having them join the stable of award-winning writers like Stephen Graham Jones and Tananarive Due on my list.”
