SCL Awards: Music From ‘Oppenheimer’ & ‘Barbie’ Among Society Of Composers & Lyricists Winners
'Oppenheimer's Ludwig Göransson won the top film prize at the 2024 Society of Composers & Lyricists Awards. Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo also won.
Hitmakers Billie Eilish& Finneas and Olivia Rodrigo scooped Original Song statuettes for their respective tunes from Barbie and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The SCL also presented its Spirit of Collaboration Award to Martin Scorsese and the late Robbie Robertson, who worked on 14 films together include current Best Picture and Original Score Oscar nominee Killers of the Flower Moon. Their pics stretch back to The Last Waltz, the revered 1976 concert movie that chronicled The Band’s final show, along Raging Bull, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, Silence, The Irishman, Gangs of New York, Casino, The King of Comedy and others.
