Scissor Sisters May Be Getting Ready to Take Your Mama Out Again After 12 Year Hiatus
Dance rock greats the Scissor Sisters appeared to tease their return after embarking on a hiatus in 2012.
They formed in 2000, emerging out of New York City’s queer nightlife and electroclash scenes, but finding their earliest success in the U.K. Their self-titled debut featured a handful of standout singles, including “Take Your Mama,” “Flighty/Gorgeous,” and a dancefloor ready cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.” Multi-instrumentalist Babyday has worked as a songwriter and producer for a variety of artists (like Kylie Minogue, Demi Lovato, and Tinashe), and just published a new sci-fi horror comic called Warm Fusion. Guitarist Del Marquis founded a new band called Slow Knights, which released two albums, and drummer Randy “Real” Schrager has toured and performed with artists like Jesse Malin and Gabe Dixon.
