Scientology Scores A First Amendment Win Over Leah Remini, But Harassment Claims Against Church Still Stand, Judge Rules
The ongoing battle between the David Miscavige-led Church & ex-member Leah Remini has grown more complicated, again
In a March 12 split final ruling from LA Superior Court Judge Randolph Hammock, the David Miscavige-led organization has prevailed on getting significant portions of the ex-Scientologist’s action stricken on First Amendment grounds. Additionally, Remini, who has called out Sciwentiology repeatedly in relation to now incareerated member Danny Masterson ’s trial and multiple rape conviction last year, insists she’s been the subject of credit card fraud, and attack by online trolls since the original complaint was filed. In what might still prove the legal silver bullet for Remini, the LASC judge also states that the Scientology and the Aftermath host “has established the requisite minimal merit of her claim for tortious interference as it pertains to the iHeartMedia contract.”
