Schools to close amid warnings of powerful wind and rain


The Met Office has issued two weather warnings for the country after heavy overnight rain lead to 11 flood alerts in Wales today - and it's predicted schools will be forced to close

Pembrokeshire Council revealed they received 100 calls on Sunday afternoon, with their teams dealing with 40 fallen trees and working into the early hours of Monday to clear roads. The wind warning covered areas including Bridgend, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea and Vale of Glamorgan. The rain warning included areas such as Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, Torfaen, and Vale of Glamorgan, reports Wales Online.
