Scary Movie star, 46, dies after cancer battle

Scary Movie and The Big Gay Sketch Show star Erica Ash has died aged 46 in Los Angeles following a lengthy battle with cancer as her family issue an emotional statement

The actress starred on Mad TV as well as BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood and was known for her role in Scary Movie V. On Sunday, she died in Los Angeles after a long battle with cancer. Her family released a statement saying: "Erica was a beacon of light and humor, bringing joy to everyone she met. Ash, who enjoyed a varied career, played public defender Gwen Sullivan in BET’s 2018 drama In Contempt and was also a regular on Logo’s The Big Gay Sketch Show, produced by Rosie O’Donnell, from 2006 to 2008.
