SBS producer reveals the surprising reason survival show Alone Australia prefers to film in colder climates: 'Winter sells'

A producer for SBS reality survival series Alone Australia has revealed the surprising why the program is filmed in colder climates.

On last week's episode, personal trainer Andreas became the first in the 2024 season to acquire red meat after catching a possum and bludgeoning it to death on the seventh night of the competition. In bagging himself a common brushtail possum, Andreas is the first contestant to procure red meat in the competition, while the others have relied on either fish or berries to sustain themselves. The season one finale saw Gina Chick crowned the series winner, after braving the elements to survive in the grueling wilderness for a staggering 67 days.
