Save Your Tears? No, the Weeknd Wants You to ‘Cry for Me’ in New Video

The Weeknd released the video for 'Cry for Me' from the final Weeknd album, 'Hurry Up Tomorrow.'

On Tuesday, the R&B star, real name Abel Tesfaye, released the dark video for Hurry Up Tomorrow ‘s “Cry for Me.” The self-directed, simple video sees the singer in a dark studio singing the lyrics in a hooded jacket before it flashes to clips of a woman releasing black tears as the Weeknd repeats the refrain: “And I hope you cry for me like I cry for you/Every night for you, take it easy on me, baby.” “Cry for Me” is off of Tesfaye’s final album as the Weeknd, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which dropped late last month and features Anitta, Playboi Carti, and Lana Del Rey.
