Sarah Michelle Gellar had one major objection to returning for the upcoming 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' reboot, according to director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday, April 22, director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson shared that she "tried relentlessly" to convince her longtime friend Gellar, 48, to rejoin the cast of I Know What You Did Last Summer for the new reboot. According to a synopsis of the upcoming reboot, five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident and cover it up, making a pact to take the secret to their graves. Hewitt, 46, also previously opened up to PEOPLE about the upcoming movie, sharing that the "phenomenal" cast made it easy for her and the rest of the original 1997 group to pass the baton.
