Saoirse Ronan revealed that she auditioned for the 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' role of Luna Lovegood, which ultimately went to Evanna Lynch when the film came out in 2007.
The character of Luna Lovegood is introduced in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which debuted in theaters in 2007 with then-newcomer Evanna Lynch in the role. Ronan did go on to star in some Harry Potter-adjacent young-adult book-to-screen adaptations, like City of Ember, The Lovely Bones and Stephenie Meyer's The Host.
