Santa Baby singer ‘died screaming’ on Christmas Day never knowing father’s identity
American singer and actress Eartha Kitt - best known for her recordings of songs C'est Si Bon and Santa Baby - sadly passed away in 2008 after battling colon cancer
The star - also known for her recording of hit track C'est si bon - was famed for her distinctive singing style, having kicked off her career on Broadway before branching out in TV and other industries. Shapiro chose not to cooperate with the 2013 book, in which John claimed that Eartha's father was a white man, a local doctor named Daniel Sturkie. Eartha welcomed daughter Kitt with John William McDonald in 1961Shapiro said in an interview with the Observer: "My mother was 71 at the time and it was approaching the 21st century, and yet they were still protecting the name of the father even though he was clearly dead.
