Multi-hyphenate filmmaker Jay Duplass has been named as the recipient of this year’s Spotlight Award at the 31st Annual San Luis Obispo International Film Festival (SLOIFF.) It premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival to a warm review from Variety critic Stephen Saito, who called it “something to celebrate.” McLennan calls the film “a beautifully crafted piece that serves as a reminder that, no matter the budget, if you have a good story to tell, that is what shines through.
