Following the ups and downs that the Screen Actors Guild faced in 2023 — namely, a 118-day strike and a subsequent deal with the AMPTP led by president Fran Drescher — the 2024 SAG Awards represent a much-needed opportunity for the actors union to celebrate. The double bill phenomenon affectionately known as “Barbenheimer” led this year’s film nominations with four each. Sunday’s ceremony, taking place at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, streams live on Netflix beginning at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m.
