The best physical release we’ve seen so far is this Target-exclusive vinyl, which comes with a bubble-gum pink record and full-sized poster featuring the album’s signature retro imagery. In his review, Variety chief music editor Jem Aswad writes that Carpenter “torments and teases on the masterful — and devilishly NSFW — ‘Short n’ Sweet. “True to its title, the album cruises quickly a wild variety of moods and musical genres over the course of its 12 songs and 36 minutes,” he writes, “meshing pop, R&B, alt-rock and even country into a far-reaching but surprisingly cohesive whole.”
