The original version of Please Please Please was a solo number for Sabrina, with a music video that prominently featured Barry, whom she was then still dating.
The video, shot in vintage-era black and white, follows the glamorous duo as they try to evade the police after kidnapping one of Carpenter's ex-boyfriends, who is tied up and thrown into the back of their pickup truck. Parton, who helped give the pop track a new country twang, rocks crystal-covered cateye sunglasses, sparkly fingerless gloves and a sequin sweater in the video.
