Ryan Gosling Will Lead ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ Into Uncharted Territory


Ryan Gosling is set to lead a new Star Wars movie, titled 'Star Wars: Starfighter,' with production set to begin this fall.

The announcement was made by Lucasfilm’s President Kathleen Kennedy and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni at the annual Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo. According to a press release, the new installment in the franchise will be take place approximately five years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker and is described as an “entirely new adventure,” featuring “all-new characters set in a period of time that has not been explored on screen yet.” Speaking to fans, Levy confirmed the uncharted territory for the upcoming film, “This is not a prequel, this is not a sequel.
