Ryan Gosling blames Angry Birds movie for his and Russell Crowe's The Nice Guys not getting a sequel - as they were released on SAME DAY in 2016


Ryan Gosling believes the success of The Angry Birds Movie is the reason why his and Russell Crowe's buddy cop comedy The Nice Guys never got a sequel.

Though the film seemed primed for a sequel with an ending that saw Gosling and Crowe's characters start their own detective agency, the actor told ComicBook.com on Wednesday that the box office wasn't in The Nice Guys' favor In its opening weekend, The Nice Guys grossed $11.3million, finishing fourth at the box office behind The Angry Birds Movie ($39million), Captain America: Civil War ($33.1million) and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising ($21.8million). The voice actors who helped bring the characters to life included Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Sean Penn, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage.
