The scooper reveals that Marvel Studios actually wanted Black Panther and Sinners director Ryan Coogler to take on the leading role for the X-Men reboot. While he will return to work with Marvel Studios to finish their Black Panther trilogy, it’s likely that the success of Sinners has found him a new home with Warner Bros. Taking on the director role on the X-Men reboot will also likely lock whoever does it into a three picture deal, likely meaning a full decade of their time spent on the franchise.
