Russell Brand ‘Lit Up by the Holy Spirit’ Amid Sexual Assault Charges
Amid sexual assault charges, Russell Brand shared how faith has changed his life as he denies all allegations against him
“I used to take quite a lot of cocaine, crack, heroin, LSD, methamphetamines, ecstasy and marijuana, as well as pharmaceutical drugs, but now I’m lit up by the Holy Spirit,” the English comedian posted via Instagram on Monday, May 12. The U.K. newspaper The Times published a bombshell article about the actor and comedian, 48, on Saturday, September 16, in which four women alleged being sexually assaulted by Brand between the years of 2006 and 2013. Brand rose to fame as a standup comic during the 2000s, and eventually won roles in Hollywood comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek.
