RuPaul's Drag Race Alum Shangela Accused of Another Sexual Assault Nearly 1 Year After Last Lawsuit Was Dismissed

Chantaize Darius Jeremy Pierce, better known as 'RuPaul's Drag Race' star Shangela, is facing a second lawsuit for sexual assault a year after a previous case accusing them of the same thing was dismissed. Eric Poff filed the suit on Monday, Feb. 24 for an incident that allegedly occurred in October 2017.

The filing comes less than a year after another investigation by Rolling Stone alleged that five people claimed Pierce sexually assaulted them or attempted to have sex with them despite their inability to consent due to intoxication between 2012 and 2018. In a letter sent to Rolling Stone at the time, Pierce's lawyer Brettler denied all accusations of sexual assault, calling them “false and unsupported by any evidence or reliable witness testimony." Days before the outlet released its report in March 2024, a lawsuit — in which a former Drag Race production assistant named Daniel McGarrigle accused Pierce of rape and gender violence — was dismissed “with prejudice,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE at the time.
