Ruben Östlund, Chie Hayakawa & Lorcan Finnegan Projects Selected for 2nd Cannes Investors Circle

The Marché du Film did not give details of the projects, but it is likely the director will be talking upcoming airplane disaster movie The Entertainment System is Down, which he told Deadline last yea r he hopes to shoot in early 2025. Other filmmakers due in Cannes for the event include Japan’sChie Hayakawa, whose feature film debut Plan 75 world premiered in Un Certain Regard, as well as Irish director Lorcan Finnegan, who is in Official Selection with The Surfer, having debuted second film Vivarium Cannes Critics’ Week. The event will also showcase projects by Rakhshan Banietemad (Iran), Uta Beria (Georgia), Nadav Lapid (Israel), Teodora Ana Mihai (Romania), Laura Samani (Italy), Agnieszka Smoczyńska (Poland) and Jorge Thielen Armand (Venezuela).
