Rosa von Praunheim ‘The Satanic Sow’ To Debut At Berlinale As Fest Locks Panorama, Forum & Generation Sidebars
The Berlinale described von Praunheim’s new work as “a mischievous, kinky, and yet tender hybrid film” which held a special place in his 150-title filmography “as both a swan song and a farce, dreamlike and factual at the same time.” Von Praunheim has a long history at the Berlinale with the screening of his controversial film It Is Not the Homosexual Who Is Perverse, But the Society in Which He Live at the 1971 edition regarded as a turning point for the West German gay liberation movement. The Forum program has been completed with Gerd Kroske’s Pride & Attitude which asks the question “What was once gained – what is lost?” through the biographies of former GDR female industrial workers.
