Rooster Teeth Revived By Co-Founder Burnie Burns After WBD Shutdown

A year after Rooster Teeth, a subsidiary of WBD Streaming, announced it was ceasing operations after, the digital content brand is staging a comeback.

Along with the acquisition, Box Canyon revealed a 2025 slate, “including renewed production of some of the platform’s classic shows, a new original audio adventure Again, and an untitled reimagining of Burns’ first film The Schedule.” “The heart of this brand has always been its fans, and I look forward to writing a new chapter together.” As an early pioneer of online video content, Rooster Teeth set the standard for how fan-first entertainment could thrive in the digital age. Founded in 2003 by Burns, Matt Hullum, Geoff Ramsey, Jason Saldaña, Gus Sorola, and Joel Heyman, Rooster Teeth went through a series of owners, including Fullscreen and Otter Media, and became part of WBD following the acquisition of TimeWarner from AT&T.
