The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2025 nominees on Wednesday, February 12, with Mariah Carey, The White Stripes and more making the ballot
The Hall’s panel of experts will be voting throughout the spring, with fans also getting a chance to cast their ballots online before a combined tally is taken and the official inductees are announced in “late April.” The Hall of Fame’s first-ever ceremony took place on January 23, 1986, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City, where groundbreaking artists including Chuck Berry, James Brown, Ray Charles and Elvis Presley were in the prestigious first class of inductees. Whoever makes it into the Hall of Fame will be following an impressive 2024 class, which included Cher, Mary J. Blige, Dave Matthews Band, Ozzy Osbourne and A Tribe Called Quest, among others.
